People over profit - this is the main idea behind fair trade, a global movement focused on eliminating inequalities in international trade relations.

As trade is one of the most effective ways to eradicate poverty in poorer countries, it is important that it brings real benefits to producers and workers, enabling sustainable and steady development. Only fair trade can help marginalized communities. It promises that producers, manufacturers, and workers will receive fair pay for their products and labor, working in appropriate social conditions - with transparency and respect. Fair trade is about rejecting exploitation, child labor, irregular working hours, or unethical sourcing of materials.

When we ventured to India with the intention of collaborating with local artisans, we knew we had to find a place that treated its workers fairly. There simply was no other option.

Why do we produce in India?

The idea of ​​producing solid wood furniture began in our minds several years before our first trip to India. We fell in love with the local craftsmanship and wood. However, we were aware that this is one of the countries where there are issues with fair labor conditions. Therefore, we wanted to find a place where our projects would be based on a professional and fair approach. Our conditions were:

• sustainable wood sourcing,
• fair treatment of workers.

When we found such a factory, we spent a month overseeing working conditions and the production process. During this time, the first batch of our furniture was created.

Why do we create in the spirit of fair trade?

Our furniture is a tribute to what is natural, beautiful, and solid. We also want to think about the business relationships we establish in the same way. Their foundation is respect for the other person. Using India's resources - both in terms of raw materials and the work of its inhabitants - carries responsibility, which we have understood from the very beginning. Our proprietary designs are created in Poland, but it is the hands of talented and experienced craftsmen that enable us to enjoy finished furniture. We could not turn a blind eye to this fact. Therefore, fair trade is the only trading system in which we could base our operations.
